Is Your Wardrobe Kid Proof?

Don’t worry; kid proof doesn’t have to mean baggy jeans and an old t-shirt. As impossible as it seems, being stylish and fashionable as well as being practical is easy when you’re expecting, when you’re breastfeeding and when you have your bundle of joy. Here are a few things that will keep you looking stylish and feeling beautiful, even if your child has just been born.

The Basics
Start at the beginning and make sure you get your underwear right. A well fitting nursing bra will mean that back and neck pain will be reduced, though you will need to be measured regularly, you will plateau. Once you’ve stopped nursing, be sure to get measured again, and then purchase a variety of t-shirt bras. They are comfortable, look smooth under everything and will give you excellent lift too!
Being healthy and happy is much better than over-exercising, so why not just buy a pair of shape-wear to smooth out your wobbly tummy.

Outfits
A nursing bra isn’t necessarily a confidence booster when it comes to looking good, but it is an essential part of being a breast feeding mum. You can however, slip something on over the top that will make you feel feminine and beautiful. A quick and simple solution to having to put outfits together is to wear a dress. You can find a whole host of incredible dresses (and tops) that enable you to breastfeed from Mamalatte. They’re even great for when you’ve finished nursing.

If a dress isn’t quite you, dark leggings and a patterned top can make you feel instantly fun and feminine, and hides any wobbly bits. A pair of colourful jeans in a flared or fitted style paired with a Breton style top will look chic and will be practical for carting around your kids.

Accessories
Get rid of the nappy bag and instead, opt for a bog bowling or tote bag that allows you to get everything you need in it, but also looks stylish too. Make sure that the fabric is wipeable though, so no suede!

A big statement necklace can entertain a new baby for hours, so make sure it’s not beaded or likely to break. It can make you feel pretty and keep your baby happy.

Wedges and ballet pumps are your go-to shoe for post-pregnancy style. They are cheap and come in a variety of styles, from pretty to plain. Choose your shoes carefully, and go for added ankle support if you can.
