MADD – New TV PSAs Focused on Keeping Families Safe

MADD Leverages Poptent’s Crowdsourced Filmmaker Talent To Create New TV PSAs Focused on Keeping Families Safe

PHILADELPHIA, PA and DALLAS, TX — For mothers, nothing is more important than keeping their families safe. Just in time for Mother’s Day, Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD), the nation’s largest nonprofit working to protect families from drunk driving and underage drinking, is releasing new public service announcements (PSAs). MADD worked with Poptent, the global leader in crowdsourced video production, to create the messages, which can be viewed below or at www.madd.org/keepingfamiliessafe.

MADD’s powerful new videos target mothers who want to protect their kids, keep them safe and ensure their bright futures. Both videos feature mothers and their daughters. The “Ballerina” video contrasts images of a car crash with the joy of a mother watching her daughter perform at a dance recital. The “Rearview Mirror” video shows a mother driving and talking about road safety, then gazing at her smiling young daughter in the rearview mirror. The videos urge people to support MADD to help keep their own children—and families everywhere—safe.

“MADD’s goal with these new PSAs is to educate and empower moms to keep their families safe on the road,” said MADD National President Jan Withers, whose 15-year-old daughter was killed in an underage drunk driving crash. “We’re thrilled with the final products and are optimistic that they will help us reach even more people with our lifesaving message.”

MADD chose to work with Poptent to develop the video messages, leveraging Poptent’s network of 70,000 filmmakers and taking advantage of the company’s unique crowdsourcing approach. By collaborating with Poptent, MADD was able to find the right talent, access a broad selection of creative strategies and ensure impeccable video production quality. In addition, Poptent’s solution is cost-effective in comparison to traditional video production methods.

“MADD has saved hundreds of thousands of lives by raising awareness about the dangers of drunk driving and has assisted countless victims and survivors,” said Nick Pahade, Poptent CEO. “But as the organization notes, there are still 300,000 drunk driving incidents every day, which puts families in danger. We were proud to work with MADD to help them develop compelling messaging using our talented community of filmmakers so that they can continue to raise awareness and generate donations of time and money to carry on their important work.”
