Waxelene® is the petroleum jelly alternative.
NO petroleum. Only natural & organic ingredients.
Moisturize, protect, and soothe skin all in one!

Waxelene® is revolutionizing skin care. It creates the same waterproof barrier that doctors recommend petroleum jelly for but contains no petroleum or hydrogenated oil. Instead we use our patented aeration process that won’t clog pores and makes Waxelene® highly effective for any kind of dry skin. Not only that, it can be used for hundreds of other things just like petroleum jelly.

A review from one of our mom review board members:

Using petroleum jelly is an age-old tradition for many women. It can be used to remove make-up, protect dry lips, prevent chaffing, or even to moisturize the skin. The list goes on and on. But is it safe? That’s a question researchers are still investigating, but several studies suggest not only is unsafe, it’s scary, possibly even causing cancer. So why are women still using it? Because there haven’t been good alternatives that achieve similar results to petroleum jelly. Until now.

Waxelene touts the following:
-Contains no petroleum
-Eco-friendly and biodegradable
-No parabens or artificial ingredients
-No animal testing
-Water/sweat resistant – Lasting protection
-Not greasy
-Goes on clear
-Made in the USA

I was impressed by these standards, and intrigued by the promise that it would work for “anything you would use petroleum jelly for.” I went into this review with high expectations. So how did Waxelene stack up?

What I love:
Almost everything. The products desire to be good for you and the environment. The simplicity of the ingredients. The smell. But most of all, the fact it does everything it said it would. I used it to remove make-up. It worked. I used it on dry skin and lips, it worked. I put it on my cuticles and then washed my hands, it stayed on. I used it on chafed skin. No more rubbing. I was seriously impressed by how well Waxelene worked.

What I would change:
The name. There’s no way to really say “I’m going to get my Waxelene,” or “You should try my Waxelene,” without getting a look or sounding like a dork. In fact, before I received this product in the mail I was already doubting it’s quality based on the name. It is just really hard to take it seriously, even though it’s a fabulous product.

Weird Tidbit:
My dog was really attracted to my Waxelene. Not only did she try to eat the tube, (The tube won. Bonus points for great packaging!) but every time I used my Waxelene she was obsessed with licking me. As in, she followed me around and took every opportunity she could to lick my hands. Weird!
