How To Show Your Kid A Great Birthday Without Breaking The Bank

You will always want your child to have an unforgettable birthday where they have lots of fun and enjoy spending time with those closest to them. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done and particularly if you are working with a tight budget. Whilst money certainly helps when it comes to throwing a great birthday for your kid, you do not actually have to spend a small fortune for it to be a great day. Here are a few tips and tricks for organizing a wonderful birthday for your little one that they will love and always look back fondly on.

Affordable Party

If your child wants to have a party with all of their friends, it is understandable that you have already started to feel apprehensive! In addition to the stress of looking after lots of hyperactive children, it can also cost a fortune to put on a kids’ bash. To reduce costs, consider having the party at your home or at the local park if the weather permits, clever kids party ideas and opt to make party food at home instead of splashing out. You can also play a range of free/cheap games to keep them all entertained.

Present

You will, of course, want to buy your child everything that they want for their birthday, but this is not realistic! Decide on one thoughtful gift and avoid anything that they will get bored of by next month (you will regret buying it otherwise). Look online to see if you could find the gift cheaper somewhere else and see if there are any ways to reduce the cost, like 10% off your first order, etc. On top of this, make a birthday card instead of buying one, as not only is this more special, but it can save you money too, as it can be difficult to find the perfect card.

Family Time

Spending quality time together is important at this time, but you do not have to go out for a special meal or spend a fortune on an event. Instead, invite the family round for a tea party or spend time in the garden (if the weather permits!). This is about enjoying each other’s company, and you do not have to splash out to do this.

Spread It Out

One of the best ways to show your little ones a terrific birthday is to spread it out and give them lots of attention. This could include starting the day with a nice family breakfast, opening presents at lunch, having a party with friends in the afternoon and then having the grandparents over for tea the following day. By making the celebrations last a long time, it will help the child to enjoy it and feel valued without having to break the bank.

As you can see, you do not always have to spend a fortune to show your child a brilliant birthday. Instead, it is about making them the center of attention, allowing them to spend time with their friends and loved ones and making sure that have lots of happy memories from the day.
