I would have loved to post myself in the forties, but I will only be in the forties for three more months and then I would need to relocate.  Rather than go through all the paperwork of relocating (just kidding) I thought I would start out here. 

I was a very young mom when my 26 year old started school, I was like Malibu Barbie Mom, now I've got my sixth child starting kindergarten in fall and I feel like Midwest Barbie Grandmother. 

P.S. I really am a grandmother to ten month old granddaughter ...

My girlfriend's husband just hit fifty this week.  I know a lot of people that are already fifty but he is the first one I know personally that just turned fifty. 

I've been declaring myself to be fifty for almost a year now so that I am used to it when the time comes.

My bf (who turns 50 in June) declares i act like an 80 year old sometimes...now you don't have a slot for that one!

Oh that's funny.  I like to think of myself on the younger edge of the number. 

Inside I still have the piss and vinegar of a fifteen year old and the sense of humor of a thirteen year old boy.  Eew

I'm here! Another fifty something mother and grandmother. I've been a grandma for eight and a half years while still being a mom too. My kids 32, 30, 25, are all married with young families giving me nine grandchildren so far. My youngest who has been an only child in the home now for many years just turned 19. We could become empty nesters at any time.

I was and am a full time stay at home mom. My kids have grown up to be good, responsible, and contributing adults despite my sometimes poor mothering skills. I wasn't a perfect mom and I feel that the young mothers today are light years ahead of where I was as a young mother. I think it is because of the amount of information that is easily available without even having to leave your home. And, Where was Dr. Phil when I was raising my family?

I have to tell you that having grown children who turned out so well despite your errors as a mother is an absolute gift. Raising a family is hard work but the rewards are sweet. My adult children are my friends and each others friends. What more could a mother ask for!

I'm turned fifty-one in August. Having a chest cold is sure a lot crappier when you are fifty-one.
