whew! that was good... just had to rant about this hectic schedule and crazy task of turning over my function in the office. makes me stay up late in the evening and lose special times with the kids...

I can't wait to say my final goodbye... and say hello to exciting times with the kids...

first congrats on being able to quit!  I did that about 9 years ago and it was such a liberating feeling - and also a strange feeling after working for so many years. You will love being able to "be there" for your kids whenever they need you!

I think the fact that you are towards the end KNOWING that you will be gone soon makes it so hard to keep showing up each day.

you're right, it is so hard that I feel like dragging my feet. but what motivates me to still give it my best are the discoveries I make about how I have made wonderful contributions to the company. our company president never fails to say he is depressed and he feels the vacuum I am creating (by my resignation). I pity them (my colleagues and my company) but i just love my kids a whole lot more than them.

by the way, reading the blogs of the stay-at-home moms here in themomblogs makes me more excited!

I walked away from a 6 figure income to stay at home with my kids. And let me tell you I have never looked back.
My mom always told me "you can have everything you want - just not at the same time." I figured, my kids are only small once. I have the rest of my life to make money. And someday, I'll probably would have traded all that money I made to have that time with them.

I agree with grocerymama 1000%!!!  No amount of money can buy back time lost with my little one.  Time is definitely my most cherished possession.

i am glad you are able to stay home now! I have a slightly different situation as I work from home now, but it was a bog move with uncertainties after the birth of my baby.
it is tough, and sometimes thankless, but it is SO worth it to know i am there when she needs me.

Hi Berriesweetest, I'm with you. I also work at home and keep my baby home while my 4 year old is in preschool part time. It's hard to juggle everything. And sometimes things are still uncertain financially. But we just keep pressing on!

I retired almost twenty years ago (there were no fax machines, no cell phones, etc.) and I have never worked this hard in my entire life.  It certainly isn't Easy Street but there are some dang fine perks!

So happy for you to get to stay at home, I have been home now for the last two years since I was pregnant with my little girl, now my husband says I need to go back to work, times are hard. I really wish I didnt have so many bills! I loved staying home with the children.

Staying at home will be some of the sweetest memories!  It's still just as tough as a full time job, but the benefits are certainly better!  Congrats! Smiley
