That is really interesting b/c my daughter also moves her eyes sharply to one side- like they go over so far it doesn't seem like she could be doing it on purpose. About a year ago, shortly after she turned 1, she started doing some unusual eye movements. Although she has never been diagnosed with it, I believe she has something called Paroxysmal Tonic Upgaze (PTU). When she is

, overtired or teething she does funny things with her eyes- they roll up or off to the side. A Pediatric Neurologist has watched a video of her doing it and told me that even though it's very unusual it is something that some kids do while their brains are developing. PTU is extremely rare and most doctors have never even heard of it. But, I have been in contact with parents all over the world (thanks to the internet) who also believe their child has PTU and they have the exact same symptoms as my daughter does. PTU is basically a diagnosis of exclusion though- where the child is put through all sorts of tests (EEG's, CatScans, MRI's, etc) and once it is determined that it is nothing else it is declared PTU. Since it is a benign disorder that goes away as the child gets older we chose not to put our daughter through all of that testing. Anyways, as she has gotten a little older she hasn't been doing it as much and I started to stop worrying. But, recently she started this new eye movement thing. I don't know if it's related to her possible PTU or if could be something else. I just worry that it could be something going on in her brain that is causing this and it scares me to death. If she was older, I could ask her about it- like you were able to do with your daughter- but she's too young to be able to explain to me what is going on. It's so frustrating not knowing what to do!
