We adopted our daughter from Colorado.   

Sorry it just sounds funny when I put that amongst those that Adopted Internationally.  (Don't read me wrong, I'm not AT ALL putting you down I think Adoption in any form is awesome!)

I know exactly what you mean by that statement!  We adopted a sibling pair (foster adopt) and they literally lived TEN BLOCKS from our house.  So when people ask "oh, where are they from" I want to say, go to our alley and head west ten blocks. 

We are in the process of adopting our second sibling pair and they, too, are right from our city.
