I got totally excited today because all the clothes were washed.   That's a big thing for a family of four!  But now I have two loads of clothes lurking in the laundry basket right next to me...lying in wait to take up all the rest of my time tonight.  Why won't they just get up and fold themselves?  I love washing clothes and I really don't mind ironing them -- I don't mind other housework either but folding clothes just gets under my skin.   Angry

I leave my dried clothes in the dryer til i can fold and put away. otherwise im days behind.

but this poses a problem cause then whats in the washer gets rank!

maybe if i stop trying to do too much....well that's what motherhoods about!

I used to be like that too!  Leaving the clothes in the dryer until I had time to fold them and the stuff in the washer would stink to no end.  I've remedied that by doing a load, maybe two a day.  The only exception would be on Mondays when I do all of the bedding, in which case there are about three or four loads going that day.  Maybe in about 20 years we'll be able to push a button and get them folded and put away!  LOL.

I did that two loads last night after the softball doubleheader my DD had -- I didn't get her in the bed until nearly 10 pm  oh my then started the laundry folding...and now there's a whole bunch of ironing lurking in the closet.  Oh well, there's another load of laundry waiting to be folded too and the kids have their end of the year choir concert at church...so I'm spending a few minutes here today and will do the laundry folding and ironing tonight when I'd normally be on the computer.

I THINK all the balls are still in the air...but barely!

I can't say that this is everyone's solution, but this is what works for me.

I hang all tee-shirts right away as I take them out of the dryer, even if they are supposed to get folded and put in a drawer they get hung first so that they don't have an opportunity to get wrinkled.

As I take items out of the dryer, I toss socks and unders into one laundry basket because it is so much easier to sort and fold them in the long run. Also, you can easily have a child fold the unders (even if you have to re-do them) or pair up the socks. This should keep a kid busy for quite awhile.
