I've stayed in a bed and breakfast only once. It was many years ago up in Vancouver, CA. It was during the world's fair and everything was packed. Local residents decided to open their homes. It was the most awesome experience.

My husband and I stayed in a B&B for four nights this last summer. We were in Greer, AZ amid tall aspens, pines, and lush green river banks. It was the  Red Setter Inn if anyone wants to look it up on the internet.  Our room and private balcony overlooked the fork where the large and small Colorado rivers join. The water was within 50 feet of our room. We could leave our french doors on the balcony open all night and hear the sound of the water which made for a very romantic atmosphere and excellent sleeping. Our room also had a skylight in it where we could enjoy the bright stars in the clear, and very dark night.

The food was wonderful. They provided breakfast, a sack lunch and drink that we could take with us for the day, and early evening drinks and snacks which you could make a meal out of it you wanted to. I really enjoyed the experience. We are heading back the week after Christmas and experience Greer as a white wonderland of snow!

So, we went away this weekend, stayed at a fancy hotel, and ordered room service...I've never had room service before.  It was really fun.  Your post made me want that night away, and I convinced the hubby to do it!!!  I'd like to go to a B&B sometime though Smiley

Hello Everyone,

I have been away for a while. I had to tell you about my follow up visit to Greer, Arizona. Our first visit was to a B&B which we loved and I posted about above.

Our follow up visit was just as good but we stayed at a luxury cabin surrounded by snow capped mountains, trees, and, meadows. The river was running with banks of white snow. Our cabin slept twelve. It had three bedrooms including a master suite and bath with a dual head shower for two and a two person jetted tub. Very nice! The other two bedrooms had two queens each. Washer and dryer, fireplace, leather sofa and chairs, dining table to seat 12, full kitchen, wrap around deck with an outdoor hot tub fo. Yes, we used it! In fact, it was snowing when we were in it. Very cool.

We had a great time sledding, building snowmen with my grandchildren, and spending time together with our family. I posted all about it with photo's on my blog.

Please feel free to visit, Grandma Shelley

I tried to convince my husband to go to a B&B for our weekend getaway, but he didn't want to.  We still had a blast.  Maybe next time we can go to a B&B.

Gradman Shelley- that cabin sounds fantastic!!  What fun!

Bed and Breakfast always remind me of the Bob Newhart show, not the show with Suzanne Pleshette, but the other one.

three cheers for Bob Newhart !

I loved that show and I love Bob Newhart. The B&B handyman and their niece on the show were really funny too. Don't you just miss the good old days of TV sometimes?
