that's a difficult question. even when one is getting a thousand traffic, pagerank is zilch when a blog is into payperpost. well, not all I think. but there are those i know who are into in payperpost, are getting a thousand traffic but has a low pagerank. and a low pagerank means you get less opportunties in payperpost. a high pagerank means more opportunities. but when one does payperpost, pagerank is low.

quite a headache! i have to ask the successful earners in payperpost how they do it.

on affiliates, i am also trying that. i just earned $65 from one affiliate i signed up for. but i hope this is not a one-time deal.

Thanks grocery momma! Awesome tips.
I'll defintekly refer to this.
question-what is "good" traffic? is 1,000 hits a month chump change or am i getting somewhere? and how can i get a newlsetter going if i am not even sure how to get people to subscribe? I'm on blogspot and slightly "dumb" here.

That's where a service like Constant Contact comes in. They offer a snipet of code and then you place that someplace on your blog. This allows readers to easily sign up. You then log into your account with constant contact and you can use their templates for your newsletters.

Really, when we talk about making money with blogs, you have to look at what type of blog you have. And if your goal is to make money online - you may have to start another blog.
If we look at the three most common blogs, 1. personal 2. informational 3. promotional related.
Personal blogs are great, they are the ones that you write about your family, your thoughts, post picts of your kids. And is far better than therapy!!! Honestly, with this type, you won't make a ton of cash.
Informational blogs offers tips, advice, recipies and other bits of information that keeps readers coming back. Perhaps it's about parenting, on living green or a how to blog. This blog is great for newsletters and banner ads and adsense. Build enough traffic to this type of blog and you can make a nice part time income.
The promotional related blog is where you sign up to affiliate networks and promote products. Perhaps its about weight loss, so you pick out different weight loss products and write up an article about each one and post. In the post you place your affiliate links and if a reader signs up - you get paid. Or you could have a blog about work at home opportunites and you promote ebooks via clickbank. With this blog you earn the most money but you have to work at driving readers to is. You can do this via pay per click marketing.

It's all about your goals with your blog.

I also found it hard to believe. I thought it was just one of those lame strategies to advertise. But when I learned that a former lawyer-turned-SAHM friend of mine can send her kids to an exclusive school here in our country (I am from the Philippines) just from earnings in adsense and payperpost, I thought, what the heck?! I need to earn as well now that I have resigned and will homeschool my kids.

Well, maybe it's time to start earning in payperpost? Smiley

I wish I understood how people make money with Adsense. I've had it on my blog for 2 months and I think I've made about $3.00 LOL!!

I have had it on mine for about 6 months, and only made 40 cents, so 3 bucks is a lot farther than i've gone!

Morning,

Check out http://www.problogger.net regarding making an income with your blog - it's the standard "start here" point.

I also offer lots of resources about that over at my blog,
http://www.barbaraling.com .  Ask me anything, I'll try to help out.

I've found that using the eBay and Amazon.com affiliate programs tend to generate much better results than Adsense.

Best wishes,

Barbara

I made $6.03 last month with my adsence and Im at like $30 total now. Been slowly making more month by month, but you need a high volume of traffic or people who activly are interested in and click on your ads.

I use feedblitz so my readers can get emailed my postings and it also adds in my adsence ads to it.

Ive used the blog to draw traffic to my store but its now become an entity on its own!

I don't get how you make any money with adsense either. I have not made anything. I guess I am not doing something right. I also just signed up for pay for post. What I found is that you have to wait like a hawk to get a post to write I guess until you move up because everything I try to get is already full.

Then if you want to maximize your money you are allowed 3 payed post per day so that is 9 post a day to really do any real money.

Although I know it can be done smoothly because a blog I frequent does 3 a day and works great for her. Here is her site if you want to check it out. www.melindazook.com

Another thing to ad here is, in another section we had a discussion going about entrecard. Obviously to get money going you need to build traffic to get rank and what not. This is one of your answers. My traffic the first week I started was like 10 for the week or something very close. Since I signed up with entrecard I have some days I will have 100 people to my site.

When I first started I made a friend subscribe so I would not feel I was blogging to thin air. Now I am up to 9 or 10 all because of entrecard.

Another place I seem to be getting people from is BlogCatalog.com. I have done no surfing through them but to get people to come visit me but they have been coming on there own, I have 4 or 5 of my subscribers from them.

Just a little FYI Tidbit Wink
