You know I am struggling with something similar.   Shocked My hubby doesn't do family time like I do, so he can only handle it in small chunks where I spend my life doing kid stuff.  On the other hand he can watch and talk baseball 24/7 with his friends while I can only handle it in small chunks.

I had to get a grip on the fact that family time wasn't going to be 5 nights a week, or last for 6 hours at a time, AND I had to accept that while my hubby loves our daughter to death, he does not love watching HSM and playing barbies.  crying

It's such a huge give and take, and I think this is one of the things that makes marriage SO HARD!   arguing Here's what I did: stayed true to me by planning things that I love to do with Sophie, always inviting my husband of course but not getting mad if he said no, then planned some short fun family time at least once or twice a week.
So far it works, but now with the 4th here---yebleech sick -- I can't wait for this holiday to end!

Good luck Danielle, and thanks so much for posting about it.  It's nice to know that we have a place to talk and vent and get some ideas and support when we need it.  I'm rooting  praying for you right now!

Sometimes I think I'm going to lose my mind without a break, then I get a "day off" and I'm all better again!

I did not have baseball because I had girls but my husband was very active in the girls softball games and now that they are all grown up he still goes to the older girls 18 and over softball games. He is still very active in the local softball league making sure that other young girls have a good local league to play in and that there are games for them.
We spent many a night up at the fields and we would spend them as a family 3 of the daughters would be playing and the other 2 girls would be playing and running around the fields. When all 5 girls where playing we would be up at the field every night. Sometimes I would pack a cooler and we would get there a little early and picnic sometimes we would have ice cream after. What ever we did it worked, now everyone does there own thing and once in a while we go to see my olders girls play.
It all works out in the long run. Family time can be anything it does not have to be sitting at a table and playing games it can be as simple as having a picnic just before a game.

Things are crazy,  Roll Eyes but what else is new?  At least I survived the weekend--thank God for that. I'll talk more about that later.
In the meantime, thank you so much for the compliments. You are sweet and special and I'm so glad you are here.  Thanks Danielle! jumping

ew, I've had days like that.  Those are usually the days I find the ice cream or skittles that I hide!   Cheesy
I hope things chill out for you soon.  Btw, it is finally in the 90's up here--with a whole lot of humidity-hooray for summer!  How are things down in the bayou?

I like popcorn!  party time

It seems like when I finally just stop and play with Sophie it's never enough by the end of the day.  She is insatiable with endless energy.  I'm at least grateful for the creators of High School Musical.   It's a nice change from the little cartoons she likes.
Oh, and Candyland?  Not so much fun the second time around.  Or the 30th.  Or the 70th.  Stop the Insanity!!!

Stay cool.  This wonderful heat can't last forever.  Before I know it I'll be knee deep in snow again. yeech
