I just saw on the news for my area that a father has been charged in the death of his five month old son.  Why? Well apparently he put him into the bathtub while the water was running, walked away for 25 minutes, came back and found the baby under water.  He admitted he often left him unattended like this.  Not only that the mother of the children is being questioned why the house in the condition it is.  BUT she still has custody of the little girl.  Sad because if people would realize the dangers of all of this it could be prevented.  My son is 2 years old and I still never leave him alone in the bathtub.  I have never done that in fear of something like that happening. This angers me because a child lost his life, there are couples out there that would love the joy of having a child, and finally child services could have step in according the police.

My kids are older. Pre age 5, I would grab a book and sit on the floor and read while they played. I didn't care if they played for an hour until the water got cold. I read my book. As they got a tad older, closer to age 5, I sat right outside the bathroom door on the floor with my book. This gave them a bit of privacy. I can not imagine walking away for 25 minutes Sad

I am sorry, but people like that should not have children. How could you walk away from a 5 month old in the bath, I just don't get it, it really pisses me off.

I won't even take my eyes off of my 21 month old.  How someone could leave a 5 month old just doesn't make any sense to me.  It makes me so mad.
