i just noticed that some threads are not as active as they were before. i thought that maybe we can assign moderators to specific threads. that way, each thread (or each group of topics.. i dont know how it's called) will be assured of moving and fresh topics. i don't know... just a thought.  Huh?

I think it's a good idea.  I try to check for new people or look for threads with not many replies in addition to the ones I'm usully more active on.  But sometimes it's a little overwhelming.  If we had certain threads we were assigned to it might be easier.

I agree that would help to have assigned threads.  I am back, had been out sick for awhile.  How we go about organizing this? I open to ideas.

If you guys can just keep me in the loop, I am out of town for a few days and then have surgery on my ankle on the 14th.  so I'm not around much for the next few weeks - at least until the pain meds wear off.

but I think it sounds like a good idea.  if someone could cover for me for a while!

OK, I think we should do this. I count 7 people (including me) who have agreed this is a good idea.  There are 9 boards total, but I don't think General Boards should be included in an assignment.  I think we should all peruse the general boards because that seems to be where the heat is--not to mention where a lot of the newbies go.  Also, I think the blog stuff is very general too--especially the one where you list your blog--I've noticed a lot of newbies head there first.  So again, when we have a little extra time we could all head over there from time to time.
That leaves 7 other boards to moderate.  Maybe we could volunteer?  Then after a time we could rotate so we all get a little bit of the action.  What do you guys think?
Here are the rest of the boards:

A Mom's Life
Family, Home, and Life
Health and Fitness
Support and Prayer
Work
Fun Stuff
Entertainment

Once we get on the list, when it's time to switch we just move on down the list.  If two more moderators want to join then we can add the other 2 boards, and if we have even more people volunteering we can start splitting the boards in half and so on.  I know the general boards get long and juicy!!!!

OK, that's my idea anyway.  I guess I can volunteer to start at the top and take  A mom's life--it really doesn't matter where I start though.  Oh, and one last thing, we are moderating not only for content, but that the threads stay active--right?

On other boards when I was a mod, we were required to start 2 new threads a day, no matter what category.  That may help things I dunno.  I realize i'm way late in getting in on this.  I am coming back from being too darn busy this summer!!!!  I'm here for good though!!! Smiley
