I've been a WAHM and it has been my greatest blessing.  While I'm kind of tired of it now and sort of longing to get back into the world a bit (my kids are 14 and 18), I am SO GRATEFUL to have never missed any of their stuff -- big or small.  I give my husband so much credit for making that possible.  This summer I'm not even a WAHM, just SAHM and I'm tickled pink for me and I'm very happy for you!

Here is a fresh spin on an old topic.  While I was working, I was successfully running a business from an attorney's office and praise was handed out like candy.  It was incredible!

Once I became stay at home mom, that praise just dries up and so did my spirit.  I never felt I was doing anything quite right.  When I was employed I had an entire file folder stuffed with letters about how a certain transaction could have never been completed with out me or crap like that ... there was immediate gratification.

I've think that is why I am such a comment whore, it is like filling that file folder with letters of appreciation once again.

** I am not really a comment whore, I just exaggerated to make a point.  And the file folder at work maybe had two bar napkins with phone numbers on them but you know what I mean, right?

*** 06/10 addendum, I am not really any kind of a whore (I should have been more specific).

Good for you. I was at SAHM for 18 years, I went back to work part time 2 years ago. My kids don't need me so much anymore, my youngest is 14. I feel so old here. you guys have such little ones. While I already have 2 in college.

Well enjoy your time as a SAHM, the time goes by to quickly

clap You are a fabulous mom!  You are doing the hardest job you have ever done, with the smallest direct deposit imaginable, and you are ROCKING the house.  Moms look up to you, some moms want to be you and all children adore you.  The momblog forum wouldn't be able to run without you..... dancing  Congrats on being the best mom in the world! Say this every time someone spills, whines, breaks, begs, or forgets anything you said---" i rule"

there.  now everyone print this on cocktail napkins and stick them in their SAHM folders.  Maybe Carrie will throw in her phone number for us too!! Wink giggle
