It's ok...I'm on my meds

part of the problem is.. there have been about 20 accounts that have signed up but most of them have not uploaded a 125 x 125 button ad, and until they do, there is nothing for their blog to be in there rotating.

Right now you can see the sites in there who actually have the button rotating;
http://themomblogs.com/traffic/directory.php?size=1

Also - you may not see one on your site but they are most likely rotating on others.  I have seen everyone's button while checking out sites.  But there are default buttons in there to advertise the button exchange when there aren't any credits to be shown on your site

I'm not usually so slow... so I'm sorry.  But, I don't see my name on the list of sites that have a button rotating.  So, does that mean I'm just not rotating right now?  Or does it mean that my button isn't uploaded correctly?  When I look at my account I can see my banner and it says it is approved.  But, my name isn't on the list you gave the list to.

So sorry for all the questions!

Mine isn't showing up either and its not on the list of active blogs. I've posted the code into my blog, I have a banner uploaded, etc. It says my account is not approved yet. Does it have to be approved before the badges will show up on  my blog and for mine to show up on others?

people on Blogger - please read...

Ok - there are many of you on blogger that are not putting the code in the way we say you need to on Blogger.  Blogger messes up the code and you need to follow the instructions that we have put on the main page (and in the rules) at http://www.themomblogs.com/traffic/    Many on blogger have done this, but more have not and are just inserting the code that is generated.

Once you put the code correctly, you will see the ads.  This is a blogger issue that moves the coding around when you put it in the way it is given to you, so you need to do what we have said and use only the part of the code we state.

Also - all accounts are approved so you won't show immediately until we approve and accounts are not approved until the banner code is showing on your site/blog.

I have the same problem.  I have the code on my blog and have uploaded a banner, but I'm not approved or on the list.

You don't have a button uploaded into the system.  Unless you have your 125 x 125 button uploaded in to the system an account can't be approved.

Also - we manually approve accounts so you need to give it up to a day AFTER a button is uploaded and coding is showing on sites.

Just finished all the steps.

When I set up the account the first time, though, i put too many "s" in the email, so I had to make a second account.  So you can delete the "tripletlyblessd" account.  Keep the "tripletlyblesse" one, though.  LOL

When will start seeing ads for other people's blogs?  For me the Moms Blog button is the only one I see.  I've never seen anyone else's button on my site.  And I'm on my blog for most of the day (sad, but true).  Just wondering if I'm the only one.

I saw someone else's ad on my site once but now it's just the same as yours. How about if we all go around to each other's sites so we can give each other more impressions/clicks whatever and generate more credits for everyone. Will that work or will that get us in trouble?

Ok - please don't try to cheat the system - with trying to earn more  impressions by visiting sites for that sole purpose.  If you are wanting to view some other sites to see if the exchange is actually working (which I can guarantee it is)  then go to the directory of the sites for the traffic exchange and visit a few.

And, as I explained to Linda - if you clicking around on your own site or refreshing the page over and over - the system sees that someone is trying to cheat the system to earn themselves more credits - so it will ONLY show the default ad (which by the way helps everyone IN the system to try to get more members.. that isn't an ad for "us" as in TheMomBlogs.com or Moms Network - that default ad brings them only to the traffic exchange page to join and nothing else.)

Also - remember that there are MANY sites rotating people's ads and not everyone is showing all the same ads at the same time - the rotate and once someones impressions are used up - the default button will show.  Let's say that there have been 1000 impressions earned for all the current sites involved....and if the exchange is getting 11,000 views a day... especially because of one or two busy sites - then all that will be left to show is the default banner until more impressions are earned from people.  But again.. MANY people signed up and there are still more than 65 that have yet to upload a button to even be able to be part of the exchange.  We have been checking their site and emailing people a few times about this, which it taking quite a bit of time.

And PLEASE remember - there are not too many busy sites in the exchange... except for our KidPrintables.com one which gets daily gets 30,000 - 45,000 page views and the button exchange itself is showing 10,000 impressions on that site.  Until we get more and more sites in here - people's impressions are used up rather quickly.

So... boils down to.. yes this is working the way it should... and it needs to grow to not have as many default ads showing.  And.. be sure not to refresh your pages over and over or even going within your own site/blog over and over on a given day it will see as cheating.  You can log into your account at any time to view what your stats are

Also - here are the stats for the entire system - which you can view at any time
http://themomblogs.com/traffic/info.php

This is a very sophisticated script that works well.

oops Oh shoot! I wasn't thinking that -- okay so I was working at 3 am and had foggy brain, and although I did think to wonder if it would get us in trouble I wasn't sure if or how it would. I promise, promise I won't do that!  i'm sorry

oops  oops oh double shoot! I visit my blog more than once a day when I'm making updates to it and then on the days that I add a new post I use the "Preview this Post" button in Word Press to check the post and make adjustments and sometimes refresh more than once to make it look right. Does it penalize us for non-live posts? And does it penalize us for viewing our blog or just ignore us when we do?

Also do you need someone to grab all these questions and paste/format them into a document to send to you for FAQ for this? It seems there maybe more than one of us that isn't sure about how all this works and an FAQ might save you a bit of duplicate replying. If so, I'd be more than happy to do it for you -- this forum is such a great place for all us moms and I'd be happy to give a little back. Smiley

you are not penalized for reqular work :-)    it logs if you do refresh more than 10 times.

Also all these are pretty much answered in the exchange area on the main page and rules page.  :-)

Also... until we have more people I have changed the system a bit so the defaults won't show as much, but it will then "debit" people's accounts since impressions will be showing that they haven't earned. (meaning down the road impressions will need to be earned back)

I am definitely on my site more than 10 times each day.  Since I do sponsored posts there are times that I write six or more posts in one day.  I am also on my site approving comments, looking things over, obsessing about my blog, etc.

Is it going to look like I'm trying to cheat the system (I'm certainly not) because I am on my site a lot more than 10 times each day?

No :-)  please don't worry about the whole cheating thing.. .it tracks them and unless you are hitting refresh over and over it really doesn't consider it cheating - and it isn't like the system will kick you out or lose impressions etc  :-)  I personally would have to do that..
