Well, my husband who has never ever been fired before, was fired this morning.  You know the reason??  Because the boss "heard" he looked into another job!

Can you freakin' believe it!?  First, it's not even true but even if it was, that is no grounds for firing!

I don't know what we're gonna do:(

That stinks! Angry Perhaps this can be seen as a blessing.  It might be to early for that attitude, if it is sorry, but maybe later.  Sending you positive vibes.

That can't be right.   Is there someone over his boss's head he can go to?

The owner of the ranch apparently approved his reasoning.  I find it hard to believe that the reason given to us is not somehow wrongful termination.

I appreciate all your thoughts and POSITIVE VIBES gutsy girl;)

I think we are going to move into my father-n-law's house in Sweetwater.  He's in Kingsville anyways so the house is empty.  We plan on being self employed for the summer.  My husband already lined up 3 horses to ride which averages at about $1500 a month.  He also plans to some bit and spur making in his spare time.  That will add up too.

I think it's all gonna work out!  Hopefully we can find a good job before kids start school though.  I would like to be settled somewhere with my own furniture;)

Your plan sounds great.  I can already see it working out for you.  I am holding in agreement with you that your plans are working out.  Check in with you later. Have a Great Day.

Sounds like you do have a good plan lined up, but him being fired for that is so not a valid reason and it sounds totaly illegal.  Sad

All the best to you.

I am on board too. God never leaves us hang for long! This may work out so well you wonder why you did not do it sooner.

I had a friend who got fired for the same reason- her boss thought she was looking for a new job.  She wasn't, but he still fired her.  When she tried to collect unemployment her boss tried to fight it and not let her get it.

My hubby lost his job a few years ago and at the time it didn't make sense.  But, we got through it and are in a much better place now than we were when he had that job.

So many times it doesn't make sense why things happen but in the end it will work out.  I know what you're going through and I'll keep your family in my prayers.

The same thing happened to my husband last year.  It was a rough year, but in the end, he got the job of his dreams.

As far as illegal firing, it depends on the state.  I'm not sure where you live, but Oregon is an "at will" state, meaning an employer can let you go for any reason, or no reason at all.  It stinks, but that's the way it is.
