The Mom Blogs -
Currently, I'm receiving several visits a day from you ladies and I want to say "Thank You".   dancing  But, I know there's more to this group so if anyone can give me advice on how to create a button, that would be helpful.

www.BlogEngage.com -
When you join you, become a part of a community of bloggers that comment and vote on the posts of others.  Once your post receives 7 votes, it's placed on the Blog Engage front page for even more exposure.  It's a positive supportive community and, as a result of being exposed to so many other blog niches, I've learned a good bit and I've connected with other bloggers. There are a lot of different categories so I'm sure everyone could find a suitable one.  The site owner is Brian, he's personable and accessible.

Twitter -
On Twitter, I tweet, retweet and mention as much valuable information as my little fingers can possibly pass along  computer. I've learned so much from Twitter that I have a post entitled "Why Single Moms Should Tweet".  If you'd like to connect I'm at www.twitter.com/@beresourceful.

www.WebsiteBabble.com -
Before I setup my site, I learned a lot of technical information from Website Babble.  A few years ago, when I tried my hand at affiliate marketing, the forum I was affiliated with wasn't personable at all.  I'm guessing that's kind of the way techies are but I'm a techie and I'm not like that....Anyway, the group at Website Babble are helpful no matter how silly the question.  Lisa Irby is the owner.  I'm linked to this site as well.

Commenting -
I regularly visit, read and comment on the posts of others, often.

My site has been up for about 2 months now and I'm getting about a thousand visits a month.  I know the more content I crank out, how often my site is updated and how long my site is up all play a part in traffic.  So, I'm looking forward to the future.

Hope this is helpful to someone with questions regarding ways to increase traffic.  If anyone has any ideas that I haven't thought of, let me know.

Actually, I think this is one of the most important ways to increase and keep traffic. I'm always a bit saddened and surprised when I participate in memes. I leave 100 comments and get maybe 40 back. Those 40 I get back are blogs I'll revisit and comment again on. The other 60...well they got one comment from me, but that's not "traffic"

Great tips Smiley

Thanks, Audrey.  I've noticed that you comment first and frequently.  I've read several tweeters say that they've made a goal to comment on at least 10 blogs a day. And, if you think about it that's more than 300 blogs that we would have left our site address on a month.  Over time, we end up sharing our visitors.

I'll have to look into memes, I don't think I know what they are.

Have a great start of the week!

thanks Audrey, I installed one by pax last week but it seems to be even counting the times I view my blog, is that normal? because I might glance at it 10 times a day and I don't want it to count that. when it said it was counting 'unique visits' or something like that I thought it meant each visitor would only be counted the first time the came not everytime.

Sitemeter has a setting to disallow your own viewing of your blog from your counts.

Feedit is a site meter that actually shows you the time spent on your blog and the location of the visitor.  Really neat.
This is the link:  http://feedjit.com/fg/
It is free!
Hope that will help you out.
