Ok heres what all my research has taught me about adsence. being that I make a big 50cents a day I consider myself an expert now  Grin

You need to insert your adsense in every post. It will automatically show just the first 3 so dont feel youll get in trouble for having over the ad limit.

Choose ads that fit in your posting (usually squares or horizontal) you want it to blend in with your text as much as it can so they dont feel they are clicking on ads but rather more relevant info on the topic.

Dont put them anywhere else but inside posts (save side ads or banners to promote friends or sell off to an advertising client)

If you have long posts put more than one ad in the middle of them to increase exposure and potential to get a click.

Use a feed that will use your adsence. I use feedblitz and feedburner. I like feedblitz the best because the reader can select from various applications how to be notified (email, messengers...)

Yes, it makes it look like content and visitors are more likely to click on those ads because they feel its relevant to what their looking for. Edit the font and boarders to make it blend in as much as you can. You can see my blog as an example.

make sure you don't ever have more than 3 showing on a page - which can happen if you put it in every post - adsense can delete your account for not abiding by their rules

Oh sorry forgot that my blogging script has a plugin that automatically only shows the first 3 instances of the adsense script on any one page.

To be honest- I think it's kind of annoying when  there are ads in the middle of a post.  I don't mind the ones that just show up at the end or with the comments... But when someone has them in the middle of their post I don't like it.  But, that's just my opinion.

yeah I think the big fat squares are annoying. I never post enough to put it in the middle so they are always at the end of my posts. But from the many classes I took on it they said statistics show when they are in the posting and blending into your site scheme you get better results. They also suggest saving side and top banner ads for paid advertisers outside of the adsense network because people generally dont look at those ads if there by adsense. With those they say your better off selling the ad space to people with relevant and attractive ads that you control.

 oh my

sorry just saw that and had to test it  laughing

I know- aren't these new smilies fun!!

And I agree- I very rarely click on an adsense ad, but I am likely to click on a regular ad.

Thanks for taking the time to write this post Nicca619!
I'm going to try out feedblitz. I have feedburner going, but the blitz might work a bit better since they have more options.

no problem. Its been interesting to learn it all. I do prefer feedblitz. Its more user friendly but I had feedburner first so I have readers on it. But feed burner has some statistical and optimizing things feedblitz doesnt do its give and take. thats why I keep both.

there are also so-called hot zones in a blog where adsense gets the most number of clicks. two of the hot zones are under the header and before the posts.
