Do any of you watch the Duggers on T.V. ?  My sister in law said they make their own laundry soap and had the recipe on their website.  Has anyone tried it?   I think I might try it out.  Laundry soap can get spendy with the size of my family.

Hey ladies...I made the laundry soap from scratch!  I used:
1 bar of ivory soap
1 cup of borax
1 cup of washing soda
1 scoop of oxy clean

I will let you all know how it washes our clothes.   Grin

My latest entry on my blog is about making your own cleaning products.  I didn't have a laundry detergent recipe but there is a fabric softener one.  I'm interested to find out how your laundry detergent comes out.  If it worked, please post it on my blog!

yes, I saw the duggar's site.  I saw they make their own soap and they have the most incredible wall climbing equipment and slide right in their own home.  I don't mean to be cruel about the duggar family but if they are making their own soap i don't think it is out of financial necessity as much as they haven't been offered a product to endorse at this point.

Just my humble opinion.

I wanted to try it not only because of the cost but also because 4 of my 6 kids have eczema.  I try to stay away from dyes and purfumes because they cause my kids to get rashy.  I am super picky with my laundry soap though.  I have always used arm and hammer because it gets the stains out of my kids clothes the best.  This soap did work and Im really excited about it.  I really didn't think it would clean as good as my normal soap.  I did add one more cup of borax and one more cup of the washing soda.  So far each load comes out really clean.

Wow, six kids and for with sensitive skin?  I have six kids with thick skin!  I love my harsh detergents that are tough on the environment but remove all stains leaving a wonderful aroma on their uber clean garments.
