I totally agree!! Single mom's are wonderful. I feel like I'm almost there. I mean my husband is great and I love him so much. But he works from 6:30am till almost 8:30pm everyday. I love the money but I miss him and so does his son. I just can't get it through his head that we need him home. It really get's old!!!

I am seeing a trend of absence fathers and sometime feels that i am more blessed than i could possibly asked for. My husband's job allows him the flexibility to work from home as long as theres an internet connection. We have 2 beautiful kids - 3 and 1 yr old.  I quited my job to be a SAHM and we have to let go of the good old days lifestyles when we had dual income. I know i can't have the best of both worlds (more money and my much-involved husband in parenting) nw.

I agree with everyone else on the kudos that those wonderful single parents deserve!!  My hubby just recently started traveling for work quite a bit of the time.  I've seen him for about a day and a half in the past month.  He was in the Philippines for 3 wks, and then went on a hunting trip with his stepdad.  There were times when I was definitely lonely, but with my kids being a little older (11 and 13) I think it made it easier on me than had they been toddlers or younger.  He'll likely be doing more traveling in the months to come, but I prefer to look at it as our time we get to spend together is that much more valuable!

My BIL is in the US Army and was stationed in Baghdad for 18 months.  I don't know how his wife did it, honestly!  She was living states away from any family and raising two young boys.  Now that they're in the same state as us, we try and get together with them whenever we can and treasure the moments we have.
