I am a grandma of nine and I very often spend time with my grandchildren doing crafts and other activities. I save all kinds of stuff for a couple of my grandsons who like to do invention crafts. A corner of my pantry is filled with paper towel rolls, a variety of tin cans, juice bottles, strawberry baskets, etc. as resources for their inventions.

One day my seven year old grandson was over and went to the resources and was quickly inspired by items he found. He chose a large plastic strawberry container and a paper towel roll. He had me cut a hole in the top the size of the paper towel roll. He then inserted the paper towel roll just through the top at an angle and taped it in place. He then asked me if I had anything red, yellow, and green. He decided on tissue paper. I did not yet know what he was creating or how perfect the "tissue" paper would be when I offered it. He tore the "tissue" into small pieces and placed it in the container. Any guesses? The paper towel roll  was now a microscope and the "tissue"?  Crime scene DNA of course!

Any ideas on what kinds of TV shows are his daddy's favorite?

That is adorable. I actually love the crime shows too. Law and Order is my favorite.
