Why at the age of 37, with 3 children already and a hubby who is soooo done, do I feel like I really want another baby? Am I crazy? Am I too old? Anyone here have babies in their late 30's?
I have been really torn up over this for months now.

My kids, my husband, my life, what more is there?

I know how you feel. I am 37 and have 2 kids (a boy and a girl) and I would LOVE another one, but we've decided that 2 is enough (DH had a vasectomy in June). My little on is just 9 months old. I think for me it is just knowing she is my last baby and that there won't be another pregnancy or anymore little baby moments has me wanting just one more and also I think just knowing we are done and there won't be anymore, just adds to that feeling.

I believe it's all part and parcel of being a momma!

Like our kids want just one more minute, we want just one more kid.  Smiley

LOL. What's crazy though is that I already have one, and another dog too. Yes, 3 kids and 2 dogs. Nuts I am!

MIchelle,

How old are your kids? I ask because now that I'm not "tied down" oh my gosh I love it. My kids can be home alone, make meals by themselves etc. It is so awesome!!

Well, mine are still young so I am torn. I am at the point where I can see myself getting over the hump, ya know. Almost done with diapers, done with nursing, becoming more independent. But on the flip side, if I want one more, now would be the prime time to do it- before I get out of the swing of things.
Hubby says no way. Everyone tells me I am just going through a phase because I know I am done having kids and my baby is no longer a baby...

My kids are almost 7, turning 4 in 2 weeks, turning 2 on Sept 6th.

I have two. I've had short periods where I thought another would be nice. I got over it quickly. No more diapers is the most wonderful feeling Smiley

Being able to drive without car seats and moving car seats from car to car is also pretty wonderful Smiley

No, you're not too old.  I have friends your age and older that are just starting their families.  In fact, one of them is 41 and just had her 4th homebirth.  But if your SO isn't on board, I wouldn't recommend it.

I went through that myself, I had 4 and decided I was done, actually I was done after two, but forgot to tell hubby that I was done, and then had 2 more. Then got the tubes tided and went through the faze of wanting more, but it passed. Hold out just a bit longer, if it does not pass, then maybe 4 is your number or maybe the puppy is the answer. Good luck with it all.

Well, my birth boys are almost 27 and almost 20 and

I have two adopted fosters that are 13 and 11 and

I have two almost adopted fosters are are 7 and 5.

Six is a lot of kids.  I currently am started my 22nd consecutive year of back to school shopping and by the time my youngest graduates from high school I will have had kids in school for 34 consecutive years.

Oh, and I am a grandmother too!  I will be watching Christmas concerts in elementary school auditoriums until I croak.  I'll be wheeled in wearing an adult diaper and hanging up to my purse and my oxygen tank yelling, "turn down my damn hearing aid" and "who the hell are we here to see?" and "and whose kid is that anyway?"

I'm almost 27...part of me wants another and DH doesn't, and part of me doesn't.  We already have 3, but I nkow that we're young, and that things happen, and I'm not on birth control. Ugh.

Dh is very sure he is done-even though occasionally i tell him i want another.  The girl that lives with us is due mid sept.  so i'm hoping helping her take care of the baby, will...end my baby hunger for a while. Wink

Babies are fun!!!! except the crying/sleepless nites etc...
